Privacy and analytics

Once the configuration has been checked, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views and site interactions only with your consent, so we can improve its content and usability. We do not use it for advertising. You can still use the site if you reject analytics.

When analytics is enabled, information sent to Google Analytics includes fixed page URLs and names defined by the site, visit times, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. URL query parameters and fragments, referring URLs, and arbitrary titles read from the page are not sent. Changes to search criteria are recorded as search or filter interactions, rather than counted again as page views.

We do not send the text you enter as a search query or a hash of that text. We measure whether a query is present, its classification against a predefined list of technical terms such as CMOS and ADC (other input is classified as “other”), publication type, sort order, whether a year or venue is selected, the number of selected tags, result counts, and result page numbers. Free text can contain names or other personal information, so search queries are not collected without restriction.

We measure scroll depth at 25, 50, 75, and 90 percent, language changes, menu opening and closing, research tab selections, manual image slide controls, gallery and filter panel opening and closing, and use of the back-to-top control. For external links, we record only a destination category. For the lab brochure, we record clicks to view or download it, not whether a file was successfully saved. Email reveal, copy, and opening an email application are recorded only as action types.

Analytics data does not include names, email addresses, inquiry text, form values, or link URLs or text. We do not measure the start or submission of an inquiry form, or interactions within the form. Video playback is not measured either. To protect input information, analytics does not start on URLs containing certain parameters.

When analytics is enabled and you consent, cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>) are stored for the www.iskr.elec.keio.ac.jp domain to distinguish visitors and sessions. Before you consent, or if you reject analytics, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics requests are sent. Interactions before consent are not saved for later transmission. Your choice is saved in your browser. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice applies only to the current page.

When analytics is enabled, you can change your choice through “Cookie Settings” at the bottom of the page. Selecting “Reject” after accepting stops further Google Analytics transmissions from this site and deletes its analytics cookies for this domain. This does not delete data already sent to Google. If you clear browser storage or use another browser, you will need to choose again. Accepting again after withdrawal reloads the page. If browser storage is unavailable, please choose again after the reload.

Analytics information is sent to Google. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 uses IP addresses to derive approximate location information but does not log or store the IP addresses themselves. This site’s analytics tag disables Google signals and ad personalization, and does not grant consent for advertising storage, advertising user data, or ad personalization. We do not set a custom User-ID. See Google’s official information below for details of how Google handles information.

This site uses Google Fonts to display text, Google Maps for the map on the contact page, and an embedded Google Form on the prospective members page. The form uses lazy loading and connects to Google when it loads. The contact page provides a link to open the same form in a new tab. “Cookie Settings” manages your Google Analytics choice; it does not cover these services. Loading fonts, the map, or the form sends requests to Google even if you reject analytics. Information you enter or submit is processed by Google Forms, and the lab uses your responses to handle your inquiry. Form input is not sent to this site’s Google Analytics.
